The beginning...

I decided it is time for me to start a blog. Not necessarily because I'm a good writer (because I most definitely am not--in fact, I suck at writing), but because I think it will be good for me to have somewhere to write the happenings of my day. I have a livejournal as well but I very rarely update it and when I do it's because I'm being overly emotional and need somewhere to get it out. I'll try to keep that emotion out of here. Sort of.

Just to kind of bring you up to date on my life currently:

I'm 20, and a sociology major at BYU. I should graduate in a little less than 2 years if all goes according to plan. I don't really have a plan actually, but considering the number of credits I still need I should be able to finish in 3 semesters after this one.

I work for an internet retailer called Sewell Direct as a customer service representative. I love my job and it's a good company. Everyone I work with is awesome and we have a lot of fun.

I live in a little blue house named Eddy (up here, all the houses have names) with 4 of my friends from high school and we all love it, despite the fact that the house is super ghetto and falling apart, as all Provo houses are. And our landlord sucks. My contract says it's for a shared room in the basement, but when the time came to move in, we discovered that there is, in fact, no shared room in the basement. When we informed Leslie (the landlord) of this, she was really surprised and said, "Really? There's no bunk bed down there? Someone must have taken it out..." If you could see the room, there is no space for a bunk bed. I think she's on crack. It turned out okay, though, because Michelle, who was supposed to be my roommate in the "shared" room, ended up moving into a really really small room for about $100/month while I got the bigger one to myself for the same amount as I would have paid if I were sharing it. It's only 1 block south of campus. Sweet.

I have a fish named Globo. For those of you who don't know Spanish, "globo" means balloon. And that fits my fish very well. He is a calico goldfish and he looks like a balloon. I think he's kind of retarded because his fin is crooked and he swims very spastically, but I think it gives him character and we all love him anyway. He isn't quite strong enough to swim against the current of the filter (which is on the lowest setting) so instead he does flips and spins with the flow. He's good entertainment and company when I'm tired and procrastinating homework.

That basically sums up my life right now. I know, it's terribly exciting. I'll try to keep it down here for the next little bit.
